Neil Burbidge: Managing Director
Neil has been Managing Director of Flint since 2002 and has 30 years of experience working within the Telecommunications industry. Neil has a background in Network Rollout, Integration, Test and Verification. He has extensive international experience including long term assignments in Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, USA and South Africa. Neil has led the development of Flint from a small telecoms consultancy business into a service delivery organisation specialising in integration projects in the UK and Internationally with revenues in excess of $15 Million.
Bill Best: Board Advisor to Flint
Bill Best is a 39 year veteran in the telecom industry with over 26 years specialising in mobile. Bill is a former CTO of One2One (now T-Mobile UK), FirstMark Communications and the GSM Association. Bill has also worked as a Venture Partner with Saturn Ventures, a New York based VC. Earlier in his career Bill worked at Cellnet (now 02) and started his career with BT. Bill also has his own independent consulting and advisory company called iacs. Bill is also a non-executive Director with Telsis and a member of the Advisory Board of JumpTap.
Scott Moore: Head of Finance
Scott is a co-founder and a Director of Flint and has 30 years of experience within the Telecommunications industry. Scott has a background in the Design, Integration and Verification fields of data services and IP networking on mobile and fixed networks having worked for and on behalf of a number of Vendors and Operators over the years including GPT, T-Mobile, Ericsson and Starent Networks. Although mainly technical Scott is also commercially aware having worked with marketing departments to not only realise their service offerings but build and validate their business cases. Within Flint, Scott is Head of Finance.
Keith Barker: Head of Solutions
Keith is a co-founder and a Director of Flint and has over 30 years of experience within the Telecommunications industry. Keith is a specialist in the Design, Integration and Verification of SS7, wireless data and IP networking on mobile networks having worked for and on behalf of a number of Vendors and Operators over the years including BT, Ericsson, Inmarsat and O2. Within Flint he is Head of Technical Solutions and product development.
Alan Bryant: Head of Operations and Compliance
Alan is co-founder and a Director of Flint and has 16 years of experience in working within the Telecommunications industry. Alan is a specialist in working with Value Added Service platforms, particularly within the Messaging domain e.g. Unified Messaging, SMS & MMS and has extensive experience in their Design, Integration and Verification having worked for and on behalf of a number of Vendors and Operators. Alan is Head of Operations for Service Delivery and also of Flint’s Process and Compliance Department ensuring their procedures are compliant with its ISO 9001, 18001 and 14001 certification.
Martin Stoate: Head of Sales and Account Management
Martin has thirty years of telecommunications experience working for operators and major vendors across both network and IT domains. In this time he has successfully lead business working in many leading telecommunications infrastructure businesses including Ericsson, CSC and PA Consulting Group in addition to start-ups building business in EMEA, USA and India. Martin has held Director level posts in telco operations, satellite systems, billing products and various senior telecoms sales roles.
Carl Gray: Strategic Development and Business Support
Carl has worked primarily in fixed and mobile communications since 1980. His career has spanned managing Verification Test, Integration and Acceptance activities, along with design of digital signalling system, CCITT No:7 Message Transfer Part. Latterly, he has driven the development of Programme and Project Management methods, processes and organisational structures to support best in class delivery and hence business advantage. Carl’s role in Flint is to ‘enable’ the realisation of company strategic direction into emerging telecommunication sectors along with support of general business development.
John Darroch: Head of Specialist Resourcing and Consultancy
John has worked in primarily mobile communications since 1986. In his career he has enjoyed working with the technical and business aspects of voice, data and value added services. John has experience in his career encompassing working for blue chip companies to start ups, including his own company. Having followed a path from technologist to project manager to sales /account management roles he has developed a deep understanding of what is required for business to be successful in the telecommunication sector with regard to people, product and profitability.
